Holy Trinity Church, Spa Road. 

A Large Victorian building opened in 1871 and twice extended to seat up to 1,000 worshippers. One aisle was separated to form a Church Centre in 1988. A tower, housing eight bells, was added in 1995. Fine wood carvings on chancel ceiling. Recently embroidered kneelers and banners. Archbishops of the Church in Wales are now elected to office in this church. Usual Sunday services: 8am Holy Communion; 10.30am Sung Eucharist and Sunday School; 6pm Evening Prayer. 

The Old Parish Church (Golf Links Lane) 

The oldest place of worship in Llandrindod, first mentioned in documents of 1291. The first Archbishop of Wales was elected here in 1920. Re-roofed and cockerel added to spire in 1994. Usual services: second Sunday in month at 9.30am Holy Communion; fourth Sunday in month at 9.30am Morning Prayer. 

St Michael's Church, Cefnllys 

Probably built at the same time as a major rebuilding of Cefnllys Castle in 1224. Set in beautiful open country and approached by a footpath over fields. A picnic site and the Bailey Einon nature trail are nearby. Church contains remains of 13th Century screen, from which some panels were used to make a pulpit dated 1661. 3pm Service on the first Sunday of each month. 

St David's Church, Howey 

Situated in the beautiful valley of the Ithon, midway between Howey and Newbridge, this church is built on a pre-Norman foundation and boasts a large 14th Century tower containing three bells, one of which dates from 1200. Seventeenth Century box pews and three-decker pulpit. One pew marked for the family of James Watt. Usual Sunday services: 3pm on second Sunday of each month June to September inclusive (Disserth wake second Sunday in July).


 The United Reform Churches 

Caebach Chapel, North Avenue 

Built in 1720, Caebach is a small chapel with box pews, gallery and stone floor. The second oldest place of worship in town. Usual services: Every Sunday 2.30pm. 

Christ Church, High Street. 

A Large red-brick chapel with spire was opened in 1871 and demolished in 1984. The congregation now meets in part of the Christ Church Court which was built on the site. Usual services: Every Sunday at 10.30am. 


The Presbyterian Church of Wales 

Ithon Road Presbyterian Church 

Opened in 1870, the only one of the large chapels built in Llandrindod during that period that survives in use today. The adjoining Albert Hall was built in 1896 by the church as a hall and for services conducted in Welsh. Usual services: Every Sunday at I lam and 6pm. 


The Baptist Church (contact 01597 822329) 

Tabernacle Baptist Church, Dyffryn Road. 

A new building opened for worship in 1995. The first Chapel was built in Waterloo Road in 1877, and a much larger Chapel was built on the present site in 1907 to accommodate up to a thousand worshippers. This building was demolished in 1994. Usual services: Every Sunday at I lam and 6pm. 

Howey Baptist Church 

Opened in 1853 and enlarged some years later, this Chapel lies about half a mile from Howey village on the back road to Three Wells Farm. Usual services: Every Sunday at 6pm.


The Roman Catholic Church (contact 01597 822353)  

Our Lady of Ransom and Holy Souls, Victoria Road 

The Church was built in 1972, and the old Presbytery was used for worship from 1907. Usual services: Sunday Mass at 10.30am. 


The Society of Friends (Quakers) 

Friends' Meeting House, Temple Street. 

A new meeting house was opened in 1989 replacing a large Chapel built in 1898. Usual meetings: Every Sunday at 10.30am. 


The Evangelical Church 

The Evangelical Church, Middleton Street. 

Usual services: Every Sunday at 11am and 6pm. 


The Pentecostal Churches 

New Life Church, Temple Street (Assembly of God) 

Usual services: Every Sunday at 11am and 6.30pm. 

Elim Church, Temple Street. 

Usual services: Every Sunday at 11am and 6pm.
