Rock
Villa Bed and Breakfast is idyllically situated in the valley of the river
Ithon on the A483 half way between Llandrindod Wells and Newtown. With
wonderful views and overlooking the river and ancient parish church, we
offer an escape from 21st century life.
The building is a sympathetically renovated 19th century vicarage with
three bed rooms. The common passage ways and dining area are wooden
panelled in oak, the ceilings have some original plaster work and
mouldings and some windows still have the original stained glass. Central
heating throughout.
The river Ithon is an important tributary of the river Wye. The valley is
currently being assessed as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. We have
otters, Red Kites not to mention badgers sets, buzzards and two barn owls
that raise their broods each year in a box specially built into our roof.
Walkers, horse riders, motorbikes all welcome. Stable facilities
available.
Horse drawn carriage driving
Tuition for novices who would like to try their hands in the traditional
Victorian skills of carriage driving.
Tuition is either on a one to one basis or for small groups.
Trips around the village are also available. These are guided tours with
an insight into how things would have been in 1875 (the date Rock Villa
was built).
Wood turning
Many of our guests complete their stay at Rock Villa by trying their hands
at turning a wooden bowl etc to take home with them. Although we cannot
guarantee the quality of the final product - the first bowl etc we ever
make is something of which to be proud.
Please note that all activities are supervised and are undertaken on the
understanding that they are at the customer’s own risk.
